Tatted Bookmark Posted by Hello

I completed three bookmarks for a tatted bookmark swap on Nervousness.org. I like this one alot. I'll include the instructions as soon as I disect what it was I did.

It was good to get back to tatting, I have not done any in quite a few years. Bookmarks are a good way to go, not so large a project that it overtakes your life.

"uni-monster" ATC - A little bit of everything. Posted by Hello

This was the last of the five ATCs for my Google-Eyed Monster LMAO on Nervousness.org. I was asked to create a round II. I enjoyed seeing all these cards so much that it didn't need much prodding to do it again.

ATC Card "Ribbons"-Stage 4 Posted by Hello

I sent the card of for an exchange on nervousness.org so I guess this is the final stage. I was satisfied with the overall look and feel of it. I really hope the recipient likes it and the other card I completed. The two cards she had sent me were wonderful. On to something new!

Friday, the day is never quite long enough.

There is something I relish about Fridays. The thing is they never seems to last long enough. If only it could be 36 hours long. Then I could get the nasty stuff I have to do out of the way so that I could really enjoy Saturdays.

I really like felt. I happened across this website a week or so ago. I believe I was searching for dolls or something. Anyway I really thought Morna Crites-Moore presented a classy view of folkart. I really like her smalls. Somewhere I saw penny pillows on her site but I can't find them just now.

ATC Card "Ribbons"-Stage 3 Posted by Hello

Got back to drawing last night. Finished up a few things and picked this card up again. I think I am going to use it as my "Masterpiece of an ATC" to send in an exchange for Nervousness. I like the way it flows. I added green to the top blue section, light blue to the next blue section, brown to the section below that and red/purple to the bottom bit. Then I used a metalic purple to fill in the thin ribbons and coloured them perpendicular to the other sections. A few more layers and it is complete.

Racing...

So it happened. At the last round of the Canada Cup, my husband crashed. I'll admit, I am a terrible spectator when he is up. Especially at the starting grid. Until he is clear through turn one my eyes are both glued to him and ready to clamp shut.

He was a bit disappointed when he found out they were not running an amateur 250 class. He and Jody had such fun racing against each other at the Mosport Vintage Motorcycle Festival. So he had only one class the Sportsman Middleweight. He was running lap 4 of his 4 lap heat race. It was the long track at Shannonville (4.03km). What I noticed about the race was that there were two guys who were crowding him on almost every corner. Anyway, on that lap he was running in about 10th spot and this guy ahead of him pushed him to the outer edge of the turn. John kept moving to the left but finally the guy's rear tire rubbed John's front tire and he had a battle on his hands to keep from getting highsided. Then over the rumble strip through the grass. He did a marvelous job of keeping the SV upright until he got to the tire wall. He was almost paralell but not quite and as the front tire hit the tires the bars jerk back breaking, fracturing and dislocating his left wrist. The SV pooched a rad, fairing, windshield and various other hopefully mostly cosmetic problems. Jody was able to race the bike in the SV cup on Sunday and did well coming in six place. Unfortunately contingency only ran to 5th.

So off to the Belleville hospital. I brought extra clothes but forgot his shoes. 6 hours later we wolfed down Taco Bell at 10:30pm and headed back to Shannonville. Jody had patched up the SV and it was ready as it could be for the next day. John decided to drown his pain with percs and beer. He was wired enough for me to have a hard time getting him to come to bed. He has a temporary cast and we are waiting for surgery, now that we are home, so that he can have plates put in his arm to assist with proper healing. End of the season for his racing. Too bad because the last race of the year is in our hometown. Yuk!

So, although I knitted quit a bit over the weekend, drawing took a back burner and I still have a few things to finish.

Sparks starts up tonight (District Meeting) and I think registration is tomorrow night. My Thursdays are gone now. Oh yeah. Signed up for a course with the University of Toronto online too. I am a sucker for punishment.
